Two groups of people will read this blog (at least I hope they do). The first group, to which I belong, live with a biblical world view. The second group does not. In the context of what I will be asking you to do, it doesn’t matter.
My request is this: that you be willing to join me and my family on the weekend of September 6/7 at Journey Church as we present “RENEWED HOPE.” Within our service experience at both our Wentzville and Troy campuses will be an opportunity to learn about La Providence Orphanage. There will also be the opportunity to pledge your support for the children of La Providence.
La Providence is the orphanage that Journey Church has supported and helped sustain since 2012. At the age of 70, God called Georgette Djona to start this orphanage in Bujumbura, Burundi, Africa. Georgette will be joining us at Journey on this weekend, giving you the chance to meet the amazing woman who brings with her an incredible story.
Perhaps you’ve chosen to pursue James 1:27, which says “Real, true religion from God the Father’s perspective is about caring for the orphans and widows who suffer needlessly … .” Or maybe you find yourself led to act on behalf of those who are victims of social injustice. Regardless of what group you find yourself in, I invite you to Journey Church for this special weekend and to allow us to introduce you to Aisha, Chanceline, Eliona, Eloi, Gareveille, Guilain, Chanelle, Peter, Princia and Sandrine.
You can find our service schedule here.
I hope to see you there.
