What God has Joined Together — by Jesse

Well…we have had many ‘firsts’ @ Journey Church as you really never know what is going to happen when you walk through the doors of this AMAZING church!  This past Sunday was no different.  We had a marriage proposal RIGHT ON THE STAGE at the end of our second service.

This past Sunday’s talk was on marriage and how to keep our marriages feeling BRAND NEW all of the time (which by the way, click here if you wanna listen) and how to keep FAMILIARITY out of our relationships to keep fanning the flames of appreciation and respect for one another.

One of the main points I shared to help accomplish this is to ‘Always REMEMBER Your Origins’ – by simply taking some time once or twice a month and dig through old photo albums of your wedding day or the old dating days. Just by doing that – it brings your relationship into perspective on why you are together and it brings you back to the raw feelings of nervousness and love you had when you begin your relationship – and it takes that appreciation and respect you had back then and brings it back to life in your today …it’s very practical…but pretty powerful – if you’re married…go ahead and try it out, you’ll be glad you did!

Right at the end of the message – Brandon Anderson (a great guy in our church) felt it would be the PERFECT time for him to ask his girlfriend Korren Coleman to begin that journey together as he knelt to ask her, ‘Will you marry me?’

She said YES!

We all cried…

And another ‘FIRST’ was put in the books for this incredible church that I feel everyday completely honored to be a part of.

I love my church!

Congratulations Brandon & Korren…We are praying this scripture over your future!

Mark 10:9 “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Here’s to a POWERFUL future together!
